Russell Smith
I realise that I forgot to mention major media, like newspapers, television, and movies, etc. So I’m going to do something now.
Can I just say that I love Russell Smith? One of my favourite columnists.
Russell Smith writes for the Globe and Mail. He runs a column in the style section for men’s style advice [which is amusing to read because of the random questions that get sent in] and a column for grammar in the review section.
I never thought I’d meet someone as cool as Russell Smith. I mean really. Writing a column about grammar is like something I’d do. And I’m clearly the epitome of cool.
Ok, so serious. I like Russell Smith’s grammar sections because they have a hint of humour, but are written with impeccable style and grammar. Every week or so, he tackles a grammar issue, much like my website. Only with much more eloquence and grace, seeing as he’s got a university degree and stuffs. I really look up to him because he’s just so cool. And he covers lots of the topics I do, only with a more modern feel. It’s good to read what’s going on and changing in grammar today, instead of the age-old rules that I write about.
His fashion advice columns are also quite cool. I enjoy reading about men’s fashion for some reason. Maybe because it’s just as ridiculous as women’s fashion, only I don’t have to worry about it XD Not that I worry about women’s too much, but it’s just funnier to read worried men trying to figure out what kind of socks to wear (serious, this was actually a question sent in — NOSSIE SHOULD READ THAT COLUMN).
I have yet to find anything else that Russell Smith writes on a regular basis. But I /do/ read a lot of his random articles. If only he reviewed film. My life would be complete.
