The Perfect Score
THE PERFECT SCORE IS THE BEST MOVIE IN EXISTANCE. ACTUALLY. I’m doing an in-depth coverage today D:
Ok, so the acting is magnificent. Just watch The Perfect Score, then watch a bad movie like Harry Potter, and the difference is really apparent. I’m only saying that because I /did/ watch Harry Potter after The Perfect Score once. Let’s just say that I have come to appreciate good actors. A lot. I’m going actor by actor. Keep in mind that they all didn’t have too much experience except for Scarlett and, perhaps, Erika.
Chris Evans, AKA Kyle: ZOMG, he’s really convincing XD AKA he acts well. You always think he’s true to the character, that he really knows what he’s doing. He obviously is in touch with exactly how the character might act, his expressions, and how he reacts to things. Especially his expressions; completely convincing.
Bryan Greenberg AKA Matty: Hahahahahh he’s so funny -^-^- And he’s good at acting too. I like how he brings the humour out of the character. It’s definitely his strong point: his ability to be subtle in his humour, not to laugh and mess up his lines, to actually convey the feeling of the character.
Scarlett Johansson AKA Francesca: Biting remarks, nice expressions. Especially facials for her in intense moments: they work really well. I’m not going to say much about her because lots of people know her acting and her skillage. But really, all of the cast is as good as her.
Leonardo Nam AKA Roy: HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHA The character is good; he practically steals the show. He voices the narrator in the movie, and you can tell his verbal expression is really good. He’s so committed to showing the emotions and go through everything, and not hurry the process. Like when he forgets who Kyle is, and slowly realises, you can see all the changes in his expression. So, good facials, good verbals.
Erika Christen AKA Anna: Wow. Just wow. I saw her in the Banger Sisters, and she wasn’t all that good. I suppose she’s come a long way. She has this subtlety (there’s no other word for it), this internalness, in her acting. It’s coming from deep in her, and she doesn’t exaggerate much or do anything too showy on the surface, but you can really believe it’s coming from her. Less is more, I suppose. Her acting is just so brilliantly simple.
Darius Miles AKA Desmond: Ok, so he’s a professional basketball player. He did one movie before this one, but I’m not sure what it’s called and I haven’t seen it. However, he /does/ have the air. It’s the only way to describe it. He looks really comfortable on set and just…does it. Simply. Like Erika, but a little less simple O.o Anyway, he’s just convincing, although I can’t really tell why XD You have to watch the movie to feel it.
Set: Did you notice the reoccuring “bubble” in the set? The whole point of the movie is the “bubbling in”, the standardised testing. The whole office is based on the circle, oval, organic shape, etc. If you didn’t notice. The cubicals are arranged in a circle, the patterns on the doors are circles, some of which are coloured in, and the skylight the people climb through are circles. It’s really a complicated thing because they had to coordinate a bunch of stuff with all the entrances and security cameras and it’s easy to get confused, but they pulled it off brilliantly. So convincing, the set. Actually. -^-^- I am in love with this movie.
Message/Plot: THE FOLLOWING CONTAINS SPOILERS AND THE ENDING OF THE MOVIE. So, basically, the six children get together to steal the answers. First, they get in and accidentally shred the answers. Next, they go in at night, but they can’t find the answers. To get on the computer and find the test, but they can’t print it. So they have to take the test in the office at night, trusting each other’s abilities and answers. In the process, Matty gets caught and arrested, and it shows the people how much this means to them. In the end, they don’t even use the answers they did themselves, and they make friends with the least likely of people.
All the answers they got were inside themselves, and they still did the right thing. Wow. I love the plot. It’s so…not cheesy, not stupid, just a good solid story about self-discovery and morals.
I LUFF IT. <3

All the actors together, squee!
