So…Exactly what is this for?
Hai -^-^-
I’m using this blog ish thing just to randomly write random things about random stuff. There you go.
I just want to comment on this actual thing thing called blogging. It comes from the words “web log”. IE It’s a “log” (diary) that’s online. Translation for other people: a place to rant and flame and critisise other people, things, places, and anything that they feel like in a bad mood.
WRONG.
Sure…you can rant if you really want to. But a blog’s not supposed to be used exclusively for that. =sigh= Let’s get that straight. NOW. Ok? Ok? Ok. Good.
Now, for what I was thinking. Copyright. I make kaos -^-^- THEY’RE REALLY CUTE ETC ETC ETC, but that’s beside the point. Kao theft is a big problem, because lots of people can just left-click and save the images. I hate that. We kao-makers spend lots of time making them. And we don’t even get paid. We would like to display our art with the confidence that people are good and won’t steal them. Alas, for it is not so. TT__TT But. I have two CDs that I brought to school the other day: “One-X” by Three Days Grace, and “Move Along” by The All-American Rejects, both of which I have rightfully purchased. So…The question is: am I allowed to copy all the files on them and save them onto my computers so I don’t have to bring them with me to listen to all the time, as long as I don’t distribute them? It sounds reasonable; after all, I’ve already bought the CDs and I’m not depriving the bands of money that they might make. So: many kaoani theifs may claim the same thing. They want to enjoy the kaos without having to go to the websites on which they were posted. So, I lead us to the difference between kaos and CDs. The kaos are free, so there isn’t any financial obligation involved, only those which are moral; however, the CDs are to be paid for, and since it is these financial rights that the distributers stress most, the moral rights sort of fade from one’s mind. They aren’t considered important.
All this thinking hurts my head. My english teacher would be proud of me.
w00t! downloading music debate! you’re allowed to save the copies on the computer and stuff because you’ve bought them. sites like itunes actually allow you to send the song you downloaded 5 times to other people too because you’ve actually paid for it and blah.. but in canada, i don’t think that they ruled that it was illegal to download music because they compared it to having a photocopier in a library full of copyrighted materials.. it may not be legally wrong.. but it could be morally wrong-ish.. because people spend time creating and recording these songs and people are getting them for free.. it’s like the kaos. people spend time and effort making them and then people just go to a site and think ‘oh, cool’ and steal it in about 30 seconds and don’t even credit the person.. yes, uber-long comment of doom. nice wordpress by the way..
HAHAHHA ZOMG THIS IS SO FUNLY I CAN EDIT COMMENTS. =cough= I’m ok. -shuffles away rapidly-
